We are seeking an Electrical / Mechanical Installer to join our boat building team in Trenton, ME. The Electrical / Mechanical Installer performs electrical, mechanical and plumbing tasks for boat fabrication, utilizing various power and hand tools. The installer may install or maintain any watercraft system including but not limited to; electronics communication equipment, engines, jets, hydraulics, sonar, navigation, security and entertainment systems.

The Electrical / Mechanical Installer:

  • Installs wiring, fixtures, and equipment for electrical service; plumbing and plumbing fixtures; refrigeration, and engines, jets, drive trains.
  • Is skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Wires and connects electrical, electronic and communication systems, completing circuitry and testing systems using ohmmeters, voltmeters and other electrical testing equipment.
  • Performs complex installation of intake and discharge fittings to provide water for plumbing and engine cooling.
  • Performs complex system installation of engines, jets, hydraulic systems.
  • Operates overhead hoist controls to position engine and assists in the installation and placement of engine over mount rails and secures engine to boat.
  • Installs other machinery such as motors, pumps, ventilating systems and auxiliary systems.
  • Has the ability to troubleshoot system problems and provide creative solutions for difficult system installations.
  • Follows defined instructions and procedures in performance of tasks.
  • Follows defined instructions and procedures in performance of tasks.
  • Follows prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe, clean work area.
  • Understands and performs all work to Hinckley quality standards.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary.
Requirements
  • Vocational technical school degree/certification, Boatbuilding, Military Trade or High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED)
  • Knowledge of power and hand tools: drills, sockets, wrenches supplied by candidate.
  • 4 6 years experience working in a related trade; or on the job and by company training.
