What you'll be doing

You’ll join our Data and Reporting team reporting into the Director, Data Governance. As a Consultant, Data Governance & Management, you'll support the evolution and execution of Canadian Banking’s (CB) Data Governance program. Your focus will be on contributing to the development of the Data Governance program, documenting the CB implementation, preparing materials for the Data Governance Council and supporting data governance stakeholders with a direct impact on the governance and quality of data within CB

How You’ll Succeed

  • Support the evolution of CIBC Data Governance - Understand, review and document feedback on the evolving enterprise Data Governance program and its operationalization.

  • Support and document CB Data Governance program materials - Document and maintain materials supporting the CB data governance implementation including procedure documents, Data Custody Agreements (DCA), Data Sharing Risk Assessments (DSRA), stakeholder educational/instructional materials, materials supporting data governance execution and tracking of data governance issues. Support the definition, development, and ongoing measurement of quality metrics ensuring compliance with data related policies and standards.

  • Prepare CB Data Governance Council materials - maintain and document KPIs and data related issues for presentation to stakeholders, follow up on next steps/actions as required to support operational excellence.

  • Relationship Management - Serve as a liaison between technology, business and functional areas to ensure that data governance program requirements are clearly defined, communicated, well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate experience in supporting data governance including measuring/monitoring data quality, documenting and designing processes related to business lineage & traceability, policy management, governance/quality metrics development & reporting, workflow and issue management, data stewardship management (roles and responsibilities), data classification and/or data catalogue management.

  • You know that details matter. You have exceptional critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills with demonstrated ability to independently identify and analyze business problems and recommend solutions.

  • Your influence makes a difference . You have very strong communication and presentation skills with a demonstrated ability to clearly and concisely present information to groups and individuals at all levels in the organization.
