Amazon Quality Program Manager, JP CPEX Quality in Tokyo, Japan

Description

Are you passionate about driving innovation in Amazon packaging to reduce waste and combat climate change? Amazon is committed to making 100% net-zero carbon by 2040, and Amazon Japan seeks for an outstanding member to support this challenging goal with the JCFS (Japan Customer Fulfillment Solutions) team based in Tokyo. We are looking for a self-driven and strategic Quality Program Manager who can effectively work with internal and external stakeholders to drive quality assurance for packaging damage avoidance in JP Customer Packaging Experience (JP CPEX).

JP CPEX’s mission is to delight customers by advancing packaging innovations that reduce waste, cost, and carbon emissions associated with Amazon packaging. For that purpose, we deliver a wide variety of programs, ranging from Zero Packaging (shipping orders without Amazon-added packaging) and Flex Packaging (expanding the use of light paper bag) to Package Optimization (optimizing dimensions and suites of packaging based on customer order sizes) and Sustainable Material Development (adopting more sustainable materials to reduce carbon intensity). On the other hand, if a package become thinner or Zero, its protection ability would be less than previous. To keep and improve customer experience against our package is a prerequisite for realizing our cost-savings and Sustainability goals moving forward. To minimize all risks of customer experience, we build a quality management system that is able to identify deviations from the ideal state and adjust processes/guidelines accordingly.

In CPEX, you will be responsible for planning, designing and executing package quality improvement project as a collective, preventive and proactive point of view with the support of CPEX Quality Manager and JCFS team members. As a Quality Program Manager, you will monitor metrics of quality performance (package damage situation) and pay attention to Voice of Customer to find out the issues that we have to improve / solve and lead an effective project to achieve our quality target. We know that not everything on a project goes as planned, so you are expected to solve unexpected problems to move forward and not hesitate to ask for support from the team and leaders whenever needed. Also, your performance will be reported to JP and APAC leadership in JP CPEX’s business documents including Monthly Business Review. Lastly, quality assurance to support a packaging innovation has a wide influence on Amazon E-commerce business; thus, a close collaboration with internal (FC Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Amazon Logistics, Engineering) and external (Vendor, FBA Seller Partners, and packaging suppliers) stakeholders is critical to successful project delivery.
