Amazon Program Manager, B2B, Amazon Business in Tokyo, Japan

In 2017, Amazon launched "Amazon Business", a new B2B platform to meet the procurement needs of businesses of every size – from small business to large multi-national organization, as well as institutional buyers like universities, schools and public offices. B2B represents an incredible opportunity to address a vast new market segment and customer base. Our business customers have different needs than the traditional Amazon customer and thus we have to reinvent everything from how we display our selection, price our products, and provide the right customer experience.

Selection and pricing are fundamental strength of Amazon Business. In order to address business customers’ needs across industries, we are looking for a Program Manager who is responsible for driving initiatives, activities and analysis that help enhance selection and pricing in Amazon Business.

The Program Manager is responsible for so called "Product Basket", a functions and programs which is key driver for B2B business. We provide spend analysis of AB selection and pricing based on purchase data from other suppliers provided from customers.

Enterprise customers typically buy in large quantities, often in annual contracts, and have very specific needs. S/he will need to understand JP business customers and build customer-specific solutions. S/he is also responsible for designing, improving, and automating the entire process, improving selection matching accuracy, managing roadmaps, tracking KPIs, and reporting to management teams.

Also, in order to provide “product basket” analysis results to customers, in addition to closely cooperating with the “Product Basket” Operation team of CTS10 (Sapporo), s/he also cooperate with the US/EU team to lead the launch of new features and improvements to existing features. The person in this role will also need to navigate a high level of ambiguity, show strong judgment, and invent new solutions for the business.

Key job responsibilities

  • Assess voice of customers, identify business opportunities, articulate required customer experience and clarify Japan specific requirements.

  • Define those business requirements working closely with sales team and research team, control program development projects and verify / localize program to ensure customer experience working with global product management / development teams.

  • Work closely with global Amazon Business product management team to understand mid-long term roadmap and reflect Japan specific requirements to roadmap.

  • Keep leaderships updated on product/program roadmap, project status and issues / opportunities in products.

  • Manage operation capacity, productivity and improve process to provide accurate selection/ pricing analysis to customers.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience

  • 3+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience

  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience

  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL

  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

  • Japanese: Advanced (able to negotiate externally, able to make presentations to management team)

  • English: Intermediate (able to attend internal meetings, able to negotiate internally)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
