JPMorgan Chase Business Solutions Area Manager in Tempe, Arizona

As an Area Manager in Business Banking, you will lead bankers in the management of a portfolio of business or Not for Profit clients and build relationships by providing financial education and solutions with a focus on client experience, while also identifying and offering capital solutions up to $500K. Business Banking is looking for you to lead the team in managing, developing and growing the bankers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, management, support, direction and guidance to a team of Business Solutions Bankers (BSBs) to develop deposit, cash management and credit business while focusing on relationship-building, client experience and risk management. Use knowledge of banking, industry trends and internal tools to identify, recommend, and promote solutions that best serve the client while still working within risk parameters that protect the bank and ensure profitability of the portfolio

  • Train, coach and manage the performance of individual team members, holding all BSBs accountable for achieving business priorities with a focus on client experience. Utilize reporting and metrics to monitor team performance, identify trends and address or escalate issues in a timely manner.

  • Actively recruit and promote diversity, equity & inclusion; maintain a pipeline of viable candidates, select, hire, develop and retain top quality talent, engage in Business Resource Groups and Chase Activities to show site leadership and maintain a respectful team environment.

  • Coach and develop a team on all aspects of managing a portfolio including relationship management, profitability, client experience, and risk management; provide expertise to team on developing customized solutions; help team identify solutions and resolve client issues.

  • Inspect and engage with team members as they plan and conduct regularly-scheduled, agenda-based meetings with each client to understand their needs and goals. Guide bankers in identifying the client's banking needs, analyze current product usage, and pinpoint growth opportunities through Zoom and phone engagement. Champion client engagement through screen share tools to educate, guide and assist the client with Chase online systems

  • Hold BSBs accountable for owning the client relationship and knowing where to route requests and when to connect with internal partners to ensure problems are resolved and the client's financial needs are met.

  • Build collaborative relationships with partners across lines of business - INK, Chase Payment Services, 401K and Virtual Bank.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

  • Seven+ years of experience in a business banking relationship management role or related experience

  • Prior experience managing a team responsible for strengthening client relationships

  • Proven ability to lead proactively through change

  • Expert knowledge of deposit and cash management products and services, advanced knowledge of business credit underwriting

  • Maintain strong communication skills with individuals at all levels, internally and externally

  • Consistently uses a disciplined process to manage time; uses time strategically to balance long-term and day-to-day demands of management role

  • Ability to analyze reports, metrics and other data to identify trends, issues and opportunities

  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships across the organization and influence others to achieve desired outcomes

  • Ability to balance needs of clients with associated risks and interests of the firm

  • Highly proficient in MS Office tools including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to travel occasionally for key business and leadership meetings and training

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field, or equivalent work experience

  • Experience with Business Central
