The Department of Children and Families’ Workforce Learning and Development Team within the Office of Quality and Innovation seeks an energetic, highly organized, critical thinker with a background and experience in project management and coordination, process improvement, and leadership development to serve as a Leadership Development Coordinator for the Northeast and Suncoast Regions. This position can be located anywhere within the State of Florida given the nature of the position; however, travel to and from these areas may occur occasionally as part of the coordination of the position duties.

Salary : Starting minimal salary $65,000 (higher rate of pay will be determined based on experience)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • At least one year of experience in process improvement (analyzing performance and identifying gaps/opportunities, making recommendations for improvement, developing, and managing a plan to improve)

  • At least one year of experience in project management and/or project coordination leading projects/teams to success (this is specific to Project Management ONLY and excludes experience as a supervisor managing individuals)

    Additional Qualifications Preferred:

  • Experience with working multiple projects at one time and prioritizing efforts to ensure all tasks are completed timely

  • Experience in building and sustaining relationships with peers and leadership teams

  • Passion for developing, planning, and implementing personal and professional development opportunities Statewide

  • Experience researching, developing, and maintaining leadership academies or leadership development programs

  • Experience conducting one-on-one meetings, identifying skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed, and providing training course recommendations

  • Experience in coordinating events and presenters, securing space(s) to conduct meetings, completing invites, disseminating materials, collecting feedback, and providing on-going communication with participants and stakeholders

  • Experience in dealing with change management and making recommendations on ways to pivot with little disruption and positive outlook

    Primary duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Plan, coordinate, and implement professional development sessions Statewide for assigned Region(s) to include but is not limited to; coordination of trainees to attend, coordination of facilitators and Train-the-Trainers, securing training space, completing invites, providing sign-in rosters, and provide any on-going communication regarding the training session

  • Acts as the Career Ladder (CL) contact for their assigned Region(s) to include but not limited to; complete one-on-one meetings with participants and interested participants identifying CL individual development plan; add participants in the CLIMB system and assign required courses, provide training on CLIMB system to participants, approve course credit within CLIMB system; ensure that all requirements have been met and complete RPA for cost increases to HR

  • Serves as a lead on the review of current Leadership training program/series curriculum and evaluation feedback provided by Training Data Analyst and Region Leadership. Makes recommendations for improvements, creates a plan of execution, and implements accepted recommendations for identified process improvement practices while working in coordination with the Curriculum Development and Training Unit to ensure recommended necessary changes are captured.

  • Leads the change management efforts for the release of new training program/series for the workforce (included but not limited to establishing realistic timelines, setting project meeting check-ins, establish tasks and responsible parties, establish communication, assist in dissemination of information to Region Leadership and the workforce, and roll-out plan, etc.)

  • Serves as the Statewide Leadership Academies lead researching, developing, modifying, and maintaining academy curriculum in coordination with the Curriculum Development and Training Unit, application process, graduation ceremonies, on-going virtual support of graduates for continued learning and communication opportunities, and establishing best practices.

  • Plan, develop, coordinate, and implement Leadership Academies to include but is not limited to; messaging of application process; scoring and selection of applicants, coordination of facilitators/speakers, securing meeting space, completing invites, and provide any on-going communication regarding the Academies.

  • Serves as one of the leads for the Statewide Lead Well: Essentials of Leadership program researching, developing, modifying, and maintaining curriculum in coordination with the Curriculum Development and Training Unit and Workforce Wellness Unit to include on-going coordination of virtual support for continued learning and communication opportunities, and establishing best practices.

  • Plan, develop, coordinate, and implement Statewide Lead Well: Essentials of Leadership program to include but is not limited to; messaging of program; coordination of facilitators/speakers, securing meeting space, completing invites, and provide any on-going communication regarding the program.

  • Assist in conducting leadership development training needs assessments, identifying skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed Statewide and provide training course recommendations through the use of surveys, collaboration requests, and workgroups.

  • Provides feedback to Leadership Development Unit staff who handle lead areas such as employee rewards and recognition, leadership development project management, Career Ladder process improvement, individual development plans, etc.

  • Supports the change management process through communication, and championing of new initiatives and policy changes

  • Other duties as assigned
