Senior Project Manager

• Leads project teams to complete projects as measured by time, cost, and quality.

• Demonstrates strong leadership and decision-making ability in a matrix environment.

• Promotes a cooperative project culture by defining and applying best practices to business processes.

Location and reporting

• The position reports to the PMO Manager

• This position is located in Tallahassee, FL, United States. This role is in-office, Monday through Friday, with a typical working day of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. May on occasion need to hold meetings outside normal hours to accommodate project members in other time zones.

• Travel is rare

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to, the following.

Project Execution

• Execute projects according to a phase gate process.

• Effective project planning and organization.

• Maintain key documents. Among these are project charter, schedule, business case, risk assessment, and issue log.

• Maintain the project team execution rhythm that follows the schedule execution, followed by schedule update, and finally, a control session with the team to address any variation from the committed schedule milestones.

• Manage the project risks and issues.

• Make effective decisions based on risk assessments.

• Monitor and control costs and resources.

• Recognize and address scope creep

Relationship Building

• Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

• Must excel in building cooperative cross-functional teams.

• Instills confidence in the ability to lead, make decisions, and deliver results.

• Exhibit positive behavior that maintains a good perception of the project office.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Business Administration

• 5 years of Project Management

• Project experience that includes design, procurement, and production

• Leadership experience in cross-functional team environment

• Experience with Microsoft Project or other project management software

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in HVAC, automotive, aerospace, or other industry with advanced technology

• Experience in both engineering and manufacturing environments

• Work experience with a multi-national company, working with team members in locations around the world in different time zones
