Your Specific Responsibilities:

The Division of Medical Quality Assurance (MQA) regulates health care practitioners and facilities through timely professional licensure, facility permitting, and administrative enforcement to preserve the health, safety, and welfare of the public.

As a Communications Specialist within the Director’s Office, you will work on the Strategic Planning Services team to present MQA’s licensure, enforcement, and information services and activities to health care applicants, practitioners, and consumers in an accurate, accessible, and timely manner. Through licensure that expedites, enforcement that protects, and information that empowers, MQA accomplishes regulatory efficiency and protects the public to help Florida become the healthiest state in the nation. You will participate in these strategic goals by promoting MQA’s brand, developing effective communication strategies, empowering teams with content expertise and tools, sharing progress and accomplishments toward meeting goals, and translating the impact of MQA’s activities and services.

You will rely on your exceptional writing skills, storytelling techniques, customer-focus passion, and understanding of business outcomes to regularly produce concise, engaging deliverables for the MQA Executive Management Team that meet customer needs and the MQA and Department style and brand guide requirements. Examples of key deliverables include but are not limited to internal and external marketing and communication plans, PowerPoint presentations, marketing collateral, executive briefs, press releases, needs assessments, survey mechanisms, website content updates, newsletters, annual reports (as required by section 456.026, Florida Statutes), and quarterly performance reports (as required by sections 456.025(9) and 456.065(3), Florida Statutes).

You are a leader who will be responsible for developing communication, marketing, and organizational change management plans that include appropriate, effective strategies, rallying cross-functional teams around the common goal of implementing work plans, monitoring, executing, and reporting the implementation of the work, improving the work processes for efficiency and effectiveness, and publishing or disseminating final content as appropriate.

Not only can you lead and execute communication work yourself, but you can empower others to do the same, resulting in quality outcomes and greater collective impact. In this position, you will be a change agent responsible for coordinating complex activities and developing, standardizing, improving, and articulating strategic communication processes to equip, train, and empower teams to learn and apply best practices in strategic communications through the use of automated reporting, templates, worksheets, workplans, trainings, planning or goal development sessions, informational webinars, desk guides, calendars, and process improvement work groups.
