MultiCare Health System Manager Tax Reporting in Tacoma, Washington

The Manager Tax Reporting oversees tax and many other required regulatory filings, and is a virtual worker. Position Summary The Manager of Tax Reporting is a subject matter expert responsible for the oversight of federal, state and local tax reporting and filing process for the health system. The Manager oversees proper filing of charitable trust and charitable solicitations renewals, business licenses and various other regulatory reports and consults with appropriate internal and external departments and entities on other regulatory matters involving taxes and tax filings and other regulatory filings as needed. The Manager consults with senior leadership, plans, develops, executes and manages the information (content and processes) of the tax filings and drives all aspects of tax audit support and adjustment review including filing any potential appeals and or requests for refunds resulting from reverse audits to various taxing authorities. Responsibilities Manages staff providing direction and guidance, and administering management functions within the provisions of MultiCare policies and standards and federal, state and local regulations Manages processes around preparation and review of all federal, state and local tax compliance filings Monitors new and developing local, state, and federal regulations in order to ensure compliance with all tax regulations and requirements Provides expert advice to internal stakeholders on tax-related matters, including potential tax implications of business decisions and transactions; Identifies tax savings opportunities and initiatives Oversees charitable trust, charitable solicitation renewals and business licensing Coordinates the reporting and any related audits for all federal, state, and local taxes Directs tax projects, conducts regulatory research, financial analysis, develops/ implements processes to meet the regulatory requirements and recommends/ implements process improvements to maximize efficiency in tax compliance reporting and operations Requirements Bachelor's degree required Graduate degree and/or CPA preferred Eight (8) years health care finance experience, of which (3) three years includes experience with not-for profit tax reporting Three (3) years of experience and demonstrated skills in a supervisory or lead capacity Experience in working directly with regulators in resolving tax matters desired Our Values As a MultiCare employee, we'll rely on you to reflect our core values of Respect, Integrity, Stewardship, Excellence, Collaboration and Kindness.
