Google Software Engineering Lead, Search (English) in São Paulo, Brazil

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.

  • 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

  • Ability to communicate in English fluently.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.

  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, and/or cross-business projects.

As a Software Engineering Lead, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as our fast-paced business grow and evolve. In this role, you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.

  • Help establish a real world journey presence in Brazil and collaborate in determining the long-term focus areas for the team.

  • Drive and own technical problems with cross Search and Google impact.

  • Collaborate with other local Search leaders to create a center of engineering excellence for the broader organization.

  • Help teams establish technical understanding and trust needed to succeed and execute on ambitious goals in Search.

  • Mentor and develop team members on technical and non-technical skills to create a team.
