Google Senior Software Engineer, Security/Privacy, Core in São Paulo, Brazil

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.

  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

  • 3 years of experience building software for data privacy or security (e.g., identity and access management).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

  • 3 years of experience with performance, large-scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, and/or debugging.

  • Experience developing accessible technologies.

With your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.

In this role, you will ensure that software and systems are designed and implemented to the highest security standards. You will develop libraries and security-critical code, as well as perform technical security assessments, code reviews, and vulnerability testing to highlight risk. You will be designing and implementing protocols and helping Google teams and partners to improve security through proactive work.The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.

  • Build solutions for supply chain problems when Google products consume open source software.

  • Design and implement new software isolation, sandboxing and static analysis techniques and make them work for large-scale software systems across multiple programming languages.

  • Build partnerships and collaborate with partner teams in Google's software supply chain integrity program, as well as with industry and academia.
