Your Role and Responsibilities

This role is an internally-facing domain specialist applying broad technical skills and supporting marketing engineering teams in delivering business value that aligns to our strategies on digital transformation and delivering impactful client journeys.

Our team works with strategic technologies such as Red Hat OpenShift, Operators with the Operator Lifecycle Manager (OLM), as well as common databases such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Cassandra. We operate in a continuous-delivery, forward-moving model of development, so concepts like CICD and automated & integrated testing are foundational.

This role will be part of a team to defining transformation strategy for MCC (Marketing, Communications & Citizenship) from a devOps and security perspective. You will provide expertise and insights for project engineering teams and advise on approaches to solve for avoiding infrastructure and security challenges.

  • Define roadmaps and milestones for devOps tasks in support of multiple projects handled on a quarterly basis

  • Meet with internal platform teams to communicate and manage notifications when issues arise

  • Document plans for maintenance, schedules and status to PMO team and stakeholders

  • Implement containerized workflows using technologies such as Kubenetes and Docker

  • Manage Ansible, Jenkins, Tekton and other CI/CD solutions for MCC platforms

  • Diagnose environmental issues and introduce/implement technologies to solve them

  • Stay up to date on the latest container platform releases and containerization techniques

  • Monitor, provision and support of platform infrastructure as defined in the course of project work

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience as DevOps Engineer

  • Hands-on experience on DevOps tools like Jenkins, GIT, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible etc

  • Kubernetes Certification will be an added advantage

  • Used Jenkins, Tekton or similar tools to create CI/CD pipelines.

  • Expertise in Linux (CentOS, RedHat, Ubuntu etc.)

  • Good knowledge in Shell Scripting/Bash, Python setting up Jenkins pipelines

  • Familiarity in integration of heterogenous services in a hybrid environment

  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases

  • Familiarity with IBM Cloud or AWS is a plus.

  • Experience in Deploy, automate and maintenance of applications in cloud-native environment like IBM Cloud/Google Cloud Platform/AWS

  • Experience with distributed application concepts and DevOps tools

  • Excellent writing and communication skills

  • Fluent English

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Networking, Engineering or related specialties
