Eaton Corporation Quality Manager in Syracuse, New York

Eaton’s Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions (GEIS) division is currently seeking a Quality Manager. This role is based at the Syracuse, NY manufacturing site and offers relocation assistance.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $105000.03 - $154000.04 a year.

What you’ll do:

Position Overview:

The Quality Manager is part of the Senior Leadership Team at the Syracuse plant reporting into the Plant Manager. They will lead quality assurance efforts and compliance of required standards for the facility including ISO, UL, product warranty, EBEA and all other quality initiatives. They will also maintain continuous focus on process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains Quality Manual, Procedures and Systems to ensure continued compliance with the ISO-9001 international quality standard, ISO/IEC 80079 International Standard and EQS.

  • Acts as primary customer contact for quality related matters.

  • Leads deployment of the Eaton Quality System within the plant.

  • Manages resources to enable QA (Quality Assurance) personnel to fulfill their responsibility.

  • Delegates quality tasks to departmental personnel.

  • Leads Management Reviews of the Quality System.

  • Assesses effectiveness of actions taken to address quality issues.

  • Represents customer requirements and interests to plant personnel.

  • Performs assigned Quality System functions.

  • Supports MESH, ELSS, PROLaunch and other Eaton initiatives.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in manufacturing environment

  • Minimum one (1) year of leadership experience, such as Project Management, Product or Process Improvement / implementation.

  • Company sponsorship is not offered. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA from an accredited institution

  • Supervisory/management experience

  • Experience in engineering, quality, operations

  • Experience in electrical or automotive industry manufacturing

  • Experience performing Quality System Internal Audits

  • Green or Black Belt Certification

  • ASQ, CQE or CQM Certification

Skills:

Position Criteria:

  • Up to 10% Travel

  • Requires in-depth knowledge of quality profession and ability to articulate the importance of quality to others to create a work force dedicated to continuous improvement.

  • Effectively communicate the ever changing and dynamic requirements of customers and the role of quality in meeting and exceeding those requirements.

  • Knowledge and practical use of statistical tools and problem-solving techniques.

  • Thorough understanding of problem-solving methods-i.e., SixSigma, 8D, root cause analysis, and the associated statistical tools to analyze problems, evaluate and complete improvement projects.

  • Working knowledge of ISO, Quality Management System and Six Sigma.

  • Detailed knowledge of industry and customer specific quality registration schemes and certification processes (i.e., ISO9001).

  • Detailed knowledge of process auditing techniques to ensure compliance with defined quality requirements.

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Process Variation Reduction (Six Sigma) concepts and tool sets as they relate to process/product variability, and root cause and corrective action determination.

  • Thorough knowledge of gauging and inspection techniques.

  • Ability to travel approximately 10%
