IST621: Information and technology management overview with a focus on digital transformation. How information and technology managers can create organizational, technological, and personal capabilities to succeed in a rapidly changing digital world. The course is designed to help the student be aware of what happens when digital transformation and the organization collide. Students will learn a number of models for diagnosing and implementing change situations that should prove valuable in their work situations, whether policy, systems development, business IT, government, or libraries.
After taking this course, students will be able to:
· Communicate how technology and organizations adapt to each other when facing rapid digital transformation
· Identify and discuss key concepts and theories relating to information, change, and digital transformation
· Apply models to diagnose and solve digital transformation problems
· Ethically apply skills associated with different types of information and change management
