About the Role We are looking for a proactive employee to provide pre and post-employment skill development and employment opportunities for individuals who have an intellectual/developmental disability.
Responsibilities include: Delivering person-centered services from a special education perspective Assessing and documenting participants skills, needs, and interests to determine appropriate supports Researching, developing, and creating competitive internships and employment opportunities Developing and maintaining relationships with local businesses, human resources groups, and employment networks Providing job coaching
Education & Experience High school diploma, required. Bachelors degree in Education or Psychology, preferred. Experience working with individuals with an intellectual/developmental disability, preferred OPWDD experience, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required skills include: active listening and effective speaking, time management, critical thinking, basic technology/e-mail, reading comprehension, effective written and verbal expression.
