Syracuse University Assistant Director, Academic Programs in Syracuse, New York

Since its founding in 2017, the Center for Learning and Student Success (CLASS) has designed and delivered a growing set of academic support services to Syracuse University students. The Center, a unit within Academic Affairs, is located in Bird Library at the heart of campus. CLASS programming encompasses two broad areas: (1) tutoring and related academic support and (2) academic and professional standards education and academic integrity case management.

The Assistant Director for Academic Programs will design and oversee student-facing academic support programming, including peer tutoring and coaching. Responsibilities include hiring, supervision, support and evaluation of the more than 80 student workers CLASS hires annually to provide peer-based group and one-on-one tutoring, academic coaching, mindfulness workshops, Maximize Your Learning sessions and other programming.

The Assistant Director partners closely with the assistant director for academic expectations and the CLASS associate director to coordinate and evaluate the Center’s services and activities. The assistant director also collaborates with faculty and advisors across campus to ensure that CLASS programming aligns with course learning objectives and student learning interests and needs.
