Amazon Principal Technical Program Manager, Amazon Product Catalog, Amazon in Sunnyvale, California

Description

We are looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager, who will be responsible for defining and

delivering programs with significant complexity and/or that have broad cross-organizational, global, or technology impact. Your work will focus on large product, process and data engineering efforts that solve significantly complex problems. You will be trusted to operate with complete independence and are often assigned to focus on areas where the business and/or technical strategy has not yet been defined.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own and deliver high-impact, complex programs spanning multiple teams across Amazon's businesses

  • Formulate product visions, define requirements, research technical solutions to address strategic business goals

  • Drive project execution from inception to delivery, providing leadership on architecture, design, and priorities

  • Identify, assess and mitigate risks, make trade-offs balancing business needs and constraints

  • Manage cross-organizational escalations, aligning stakeholders at the VP level and above

  • Effectively force-multiply, improving how organizations interact to accelerate progress

  • Clearly communicate vision, plans and status to executive management and stakeholders

  • Actively develop and mentor Amazon's Program/Product Management community

Our mission is to build and manage the foundational software of the Earth’s Biggest Catalog. Amazon’s Product Catalog is the substrate of the WW Stores business with broad impact on listing experience, shopping experience, physical stores, as well as end-to-end fulfillment operations. We offer data modeling and solution architecture for everything Amazon sells, every physical product, digital game, apps, prime video, and powers entire businesses like Whole Foods, Amazon Pharmacy, Supply Chain by Amazon. Through these services, we enable millions of sellers and vendors to manage billions of products across Amazon's online marketplaces and physical stores world-wide in real-time.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Strong strategic thinking, combined with attention to detail in written/verbal communication

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $159,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
