This role will be based in Sunnyvale or San Francisco.

This is a full-time engineering role based in Sunnyvale, CA

LinkedIn's Machine Learning Engineers are both data/research scientists and software engineers, who develop and implement machine learning models and algorithms. Unlike other companies that separate these roles, our engineers work on projects from ideation to implementation.

As an AI/ML Engineering Manager at LinkedIn you will be responsible for leading a team of Applied Researchers and Machine Learning Engineers that build and own algorithms, models, and systems that power our LinkedIn platform.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in key technical and design discussions with technical leads in the team.

• Collaborate with application engineering, product, and partner teams to design machine learning solutions.

• Operate best engineering and scientific practices & processes to ensure productivity of the team and drive faster iterations via A/B experiments.

• Attract world class talent and provide technical guidance, career development, and mentoring to team members.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent technical experience

• 6+ years of industry experience with machine learning, optimization algorithms, and/or deep-learning techniques

• 1+ year of managing a team of engineers

Preferred Qualifications: 

• 2+ years of management experience

• MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline

• Experience developing large scale systems

• Analytical approach coupled with solid communication skills and a sense of ownership

• Track record of producing papers in conferences such as KDD and patenting innovations

Suggested Skills:

• Experience leading engineers to tackle a large-scale AI problem

• Strong technical background & Strategic thinking

• Experience in Machine Learning, Big Data and Deep Learning

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $156,000-$255,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor. The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
