Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Senior Production Associate, PNBD Shipping. The core hours are Monday through Friday from 5:00 am to 1:30 pm. The rate for this position is $17.10 per hour. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. What you’ll do:

In the Senior Production Associate, Shipping role, you will be responsible for packing and shipping customer orders and completing transactions in Eaton systems to maintain accurate inventory and work with the Supervisor to drive results on key metrics including safety, quality, delivery, and productivity in the absence of the Team Leader. You will effectively communicate and work with team members to complete your job function and meet safety, quality, and productivity goals.

In this function, you will:

• You will promote a safe, engaged, and inclusive work culture by proactively addressing and resolving concerns and escalating issues to your supervisor as appropriate.

• You will compare shipping orders to identify units and/or material for shipment. Select and prepare paperwork, commercial invoices, custom papers, shipping lists, instruction booklets, etc.

• You will communicate professionally to provide updates on the status of specific orders, resolve issues with shipping, and promote teamwork across departments.

• You will pack, create, and band equipment, parts, materials, products, and accessories to minimize damage during shipment. Apply carton labels, stickers, and stencils as required by shipping orders, instructions, etc.

• You will solicit driver contact information (i.e. cell numbers, name, etc.) and provide them with job site contact information, delivery hours, call ahead requirements, etc.

• You will proactively identify opportunities for process improvement as well as complete root cause analysis in response to issues with quality or production.

• You will be responsible for quality, including visual inspections of material before shipping to include compliance with the buddy check process, identifying nonconforming parts, and troubleshooting errors.

• You will delegate tasks and align resources as appropriate to meet production goals including working in a production associate capacity due to absenteeism/leaves of absence.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.

• 1 year of manufacturing or operations experience.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

• No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Sumter facility (50-mile radius) will be considered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Eaton systems including order entry (Vista), material management (DMM), MRP/ERP (AS400).

• Strong verbal and written communication, persuasive, and analytical problem-solving skills. Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within a team environment.

• Willing to work flexible hours and overtime in support of business needs.

• Willing to be trained/certified in both forklift and yard truck because both are required for the role (or have current certification)

• Proficient with computers and programs including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and SharePoint.

• Working knowledge of Lean concepts.

• Must work somewhat independently and make decisions that affect the workgroup. Focus efforts on attaining assigned goals and objectives, which include meeting the needs and expectations of internal and external customers.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach at or above shoulder level, grip, and use hands to handle and feel. The employee is required to stoop, lift, carry, push, pull, and grip frequently. The employee is also required to lift/carry up to 35 pounds and to push/pull up to or greater than 35 pounds with or without accommodation frequently. The vision requirements include far and close vision with depth perception and color discrimination. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to communicate.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to noise and frequently exposed to dust.
