Eaton Corporation Production Supervisor - D shift in Sumter, South Carolina

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Production Supervisor - D shift. This role will be located out of Sumter, SC. Relocation assistance will be provided.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $80,250 - $117,700 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

Manage and direct Fabrication operations to produce and ship product to internal and external customers at a minimum cost in accordance with engineering design specifications, strong customer service, and quality objectives. Serve as a leader for one’s manufacturing production team, guiding others in achieving organizational goals set for the Fabrication department.

What you’ll do:

  • Monitor and improve the systems in place to maximize quality and production; schedule and commit the workload to meet all customer needs while minimizing costs.

  • Maintain daily statistics on customer demand, production, and overdue orders. Communicate production metrics to management and other functional supervisors and maintain active communications between all levels of plant personnel.

  • Serve as a central point of contact for management in regards to production issues and concerns in one’s functional area.

  • Manage and enforce safety standards that include housekeeping objectives, following all safety rules and procedures including PPE standards and buddy checks, and addressing unsafe conditions. Understand and meet all department safety goals. Ensure that department work areas are kept clean, organized, and orderly per 5S standards.

  • Motivate and develop one’s workforce so as to optimize successful employees and ensure strong employee performance. Lead in the coaching, counseling, and disciplinary activities surrounding one’s employees while simultaneously administering and maintaining Eaton Corporation policies and plant policies. Explain the necessities of new policies, technologies, and processes as they are implemented.

  • Evaluate workload requirements to ensure proper and adequate manning to support production requirements. Delegate tasks and responsibilities accordingly as governed by customer demand.

  • Investigates and solves quality issues and/or serves as a point of contact through which quality issues can be resolved. Ensures that employees know the importance of quality and enforces follow through. Works with quality control team to resolve issues and regularly reviews quality trends in the market.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution AND three plus (3+) years of experience supporting Manufacturing, Operations or Technical processes OR An Associates degree with five plus (5+) years of experience supporting Manufacturing, Operations or Technical processes

  • Minimum one year of leadership experience managing people or project teams is required.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution

  • Three years of leadership experience

  • Lean manufacturing / Operational Excellence skills in 5S+, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Visual Management, etc.
