Vontier Purchasing Specialist in Stow, Ohio

You will be a member of the Purchasing Organization, and will be paired with a Senior Buyer to manage a large list of direct material suppliers. You will be focused on prompt execution of expediting backorders, invoice discrepancies, and customer service escalation requests (E-Post-its).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Item Creation and Maintenance - Enter new item creation codes into system, determine distribution centers required to stock item, negotiate minimum and multiple order quantities with suppliers.

· Resolve Customer Service Issue Escalations (E-Post-its) - Working with customer service to create standard procedures for common issues and implement within customer service to empower first call resolution and reduce number of E-Post-its.

· Resolve Distribution Center (DC) Receiving Discrepancies - Work with DC, supplier, and Sr. Buyer to investigate receiving/invoice discrepancies to resolve and eliminate future occurrences.

· Expediting Purchase Orders and Managing the Integrity of Supplier PO Promise Dates - Hold supplier accountable for communicating purchase order fulfillment dates and expediting orders to ensure timely delivery.

· Proactively review open orders to identify supply problems (excess Inventory and backorders) and negotiate with supplier directly to remedy the issues before they impact the company.

· Other tasks as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business major, however Supply Chain concentration is preferred

  • 0-2 years of experience preferred

  • Strong Supply Chain internship experience or one to two years out of college entry level supply chain experience

  • Career drive and upward mobility

  • Customer advocacy

  • Ability to resolve conflict when needed

  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written

  • Ability to use interpersonal skills when working in a team environment

  • Negotiations training or experience preferred

  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office with an intermediate knowledge of Excel

  • Strong problem solving skills
