About the Role The General Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager at ACRT Services. This position will play a key role in maintaining financial information within the purview of GAAP reporting. This role will be heavily involved in month end process and reconciliations. This position requires strong attention to detail and a high level of organization. What You'll Do General Accounting Responsibilities Maintain Balance Sheet accounts in Workday Reconcile Balance Sheet General Ledger accounts monthly Serve as the accounting team expert for the company's ERP, providing guidance and support to team members Maintain monthly intercompany allocations Implement departmental changes as needed to make processes more effective Identify opportunities to optimize and automate processes within the ERP system With advanced report writing skills, support team members with ad hoc or new reports as needed With IT, assist in implementation of new software release features related to accounting Attend webinars, workshops, and other trainings to stay informed of federal and state income tax rules Quality Auditing Assist and work with external Auditors during annual audits Perform quality assurance internal audits Compliance Maintain Standard Operating Procedures Ensure that policies are up to date with changes in accounting standards and internal processes Provide data and respond to inquiries for the US Census and SAM or any other Governmental Agency Responses Acquisitions Participate in the consolidation of financial statements Assist in the integration of acquisitions Other duties as assigned About You Must haves: Education: Bachelor's degree Experience: 3 or more years of accounting experience Nice to haves: Education: MBA CPA Experience: 5 or more years of public and 1 or more years of experience using Workday Your Skills: Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (Look-ups, Pivot Tables, etc.) Self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills, ability to multi-task and work independently as well as a team Excellent communication skills, comfortable interacting with senior management Demonstrated critical thinking skills and ability to exercise good judgement to make good business decisions This role would not be a good fit if: You don't enjoy working independently.
