Lakeview Memorial Hospital Association Manager, Patient Access in Stillwater, Minnesota

The manager oversees the activities of Patient Access staff to ensure prompt accessibility for patients to obtain hospital and ambulatory services. Responsible for day-to-day operations including: gathering of accurate demographic, insurance, consents, authorization, and financial information; verification of benefits; and collection of co-pays/co-insurance at time of service. This manager is also responsible for maintaining department policies, procedures, and is the onsite Epic Cadence/ADT systems expert and works collaboratively with end users, application analysts, and IS&T staff. The manager develops standard workflows that will align with other HealthPartners locations but also meet the business requirements of the local services. Work Schedule: 1.0 FTE Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Healthcare Administration or a related field. Five (5) year experience in healthcare, billing, patient access/admitting, or collections to include three (3) years supervisory experience. Working knowledge of electronic medical record system, preferably Epic. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with key constituents and all levels of management and employees. Demonstrated highly effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work within a team environment and promote effective interpersonal relationships with staff and patients. Exceptional commitment to and successful utilization of customer service skills and service recovery methods. Knowledge and compliance with corporate, state, federal, and health care regulations. Knowledge of hospital registration, billing, and patient self-pay collection practices. Demonstrated ability to foster healthy relationships with staff, internal and external customers, and other peers within the HealthPartners enterprise. Demonstrated ability to successfully develop, implement, and coordinate a major process across multiple work areas. Demonstrated ability to apply principles of project management and change management in a work setting. Ability to effectively supervise direct and indirect staff. Ability to prioritize and coordinate a variety of tasks based on importance of customer satisfaction, patient compliance, revenue cycle improvement, and hospital operation. Ability to set priorities and demonstrate effective time management techniques. Demonstrated ability to coordinate a high level of activity under a variety of conditions and constraints. Ability to problem solve complex issues between multiple departments and stakeholders. Ability to monitor operations/capital budgets. Ability to develop effective working relationships and establish lines of communication with all providers, physicians, nurse managers, access supervisors and administrators. Must be detail oriented and well organized.
