General Dynamics Land Systems Systems Design Engineer in Sterling Heights, Michigan

About the Role: The System Design Engineer duties include the development of system/subsystem design and requirements, software requirements, integration, and verification test. They shall ensure the design has been fully defined, traceable, and validated during testing down to the components and software requirements. They shall ensure that all of their tasks and quality products are completed on-time. Responsibilities to Anticipate: This role will Define and ensure traceability of the system and subsystem requirements and software requirements. Perform functional analysis to develop flows and concepts of execution of the system. Design and develop the system and subsystem architecture, interfaces which will include commonality considerations. Decompose system and subsystem performance and verification requirements and develop design verification plans and reports. Identifies, defines and manages the power, data and other system interfaces along with maintaining the component interfaces. Supports managing power and network bandwidth allocations for vehicle functions. Ensures the system design aligns across physical, power, data and software functions. Works on integration, verification and execution of the system and subsystem components in both a lab environment and on the vehicle by conduction tests and following verification plans. Will work with the team on technical guidance regarding planning, schedules and cost estimates of project. Will be able to achieve proficiency in one and/or multiple domains of the vehicles systems such as Power, Fire Control, Diagnostics, Information Assurance, C4, Software user interface design. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Sought: Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline, Electrical Engineering desired. 1-3 years related engineering experience sought but will consider fewer years with advanced degree. Must have experience with TEAMCENTER and/or DOORS. Experience writing test procedures and reports. Experience troubleshooting systems and subsystems of vehicles. Additional Information / Desired Experience This position will require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance.  (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance) This position may require the candidate to be able to climb on/off,
