Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

The Assembly Technician is responsible for ensuring that the systems are built per engineering drawings, workmanship documentation, quality procedures, customer specifications and engineering direction.

PRIMARY FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Assembly Technician will work closely with other assemblers, lead mechanical tech, engineers and designers in manufacturing company products.

  • This person will assemble products, read mechanical & electrical schematics and fabricate components according to requirements specified by engineering (see skills, education, experience below)

  • Follow established quality procedures regarding workmanship, process certification and safety regulations.

  • Observe and maintain sequence of assembly within or below the established budgeted labor hours for each task assigned.

  • Insure required work order documentation is complete and correct.

  • Testing of completed units according to customer specifications and company procedures.

  • Other duties as assigned by management

SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • High School diploma or GED required.

  • 5-8 years of experience.

  • This position requires a high school diploma and previous experience in mechanical assembly.

  • Proficient in building mechanical and fabricated assembly processes.

  • State licensed mechanic/diesel mechanic or other similar certification highly preferred .

  • Ability to read blueprints required .

  • Be familiar with basic hand and power tools, torque wrenches and measuring equipment (calipers and micrometers).

Position Requirements

Work Environment

This position is required to work in manufacturing environment facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; extreme heat (non-weather) and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when required. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. Repetitive motions, frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling of parts and parts containers may be required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Do to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and cold

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS AND PERSONAL PROTECTION REQUIREMENTS:
