Paychex Supervisor, PEO Payroll in St Petersburg, Florida

Overview

Supervises and directs Payroll Specialists providing PEO Payroll services to clients. Provides technical advice to resolve problems. Ensures that a positive, high quality image is established and maintained with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises, assigns, directs and checks work of assigned personnel; schedules work and staff. Schedules time away from the office for assigned personnel to ensure proper coverage in anticipation of business cycles.

  • Provides technical expertise on multiple product lines to resolve problems regarding client concerns and Paychex policy/procedures. Interfaces with Field, Interoffice and HRS personnel to identify and resolve system issues.

  • Monitors, balances and checks work of assigned personnel to ensure accuracy.

  • Assists PEO Payroll Manager with development of department goals, budget controls, process improvements and employee motivation strategies.

  • Recommends, implements, and monitors on-the-job training and education to ensure professional advancement of assigned personnel.

  • Establishes and maintains a positive, professional relationship with clients. Fosters a cohesive partnership between all Paychex departments.

  • Makes recommendations for hiring, evaluates performance, recommends promotion/termination, and takes disciplinary action. Improves and sustains employee morale.

  • Assists with branch recruiting activities related to interviewing and hiring.

  • Makes client visits/calls to resolve problems and review payroll service as needed.

  • Maintains knowledge of changes in the payroll system and software, the PEO Industry, wage and tax law, and Paychex/PEO policies/procedures to further personal professional development. Reviews and recommends system changes to maintain integrity of the payroll system.

  • Monitors Data Integrity reports; reconciles reports for Finance and HRS Accounting and resolves complicated and escalated reconciliation items.

  • May act as PEO Payroll Manager in his/her absence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Computer Science - Preferred

  • 4 years of experience in Paychex/PEO Payroll Specialist/Senior Payroll Specialist.

Compensation

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $55,230.00 - $78,900 salary. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
