Job Summary:

Under general supervision, uses skills obtained through experience and training to perform specific billing related activities within an assigned functional area. Responsible for researching and resolving transaction issues as well as resolving inquiries from Financial Advisors regarding fees. Performs a variety of non-routine tasks using established procedures and general guidance. Sound judgment is required to adapt procedures, processes and techniques to assignments. Resolves most questions and problems without referring to a higher level. Maintains frequent contact with internal and external customers in order to obtain, clarify or provide facts and information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Applies fee management knowledge to address issues independently.

  • Resolves inquiries from Financial Advisors regarding fees.

  • Calculates Financial Advisor compensation at the gross level.

  • Processes account payable, receivables and/or fixed asset transactions.

  • Researches and resolves transaction processing issues.

  • Compiles, reviews and reports on statistical data and reports.

  • Maintains product knowledge in order to assist with various broker dealer trades.

  • Builds relationships with members of cross-functional areas in order to perform job duties such as with money managers, portfolio managers, and accountants across the organization.

  • Keeps abreast of both business continuity and quality assurance standards.

  • Reviews customer account checks for accuracy and to ensure transactions are within company policy.

  • Maintains a high level of customer service with both internal and external clients.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • General office practices, procedures, and methods

  • Basic accounting concepts, practices and procedures.

  • Mathematical procedures required to verify and reconcile billing transactions.

  • General ledger accounting software packages or ability to learn specific tasks.

Skill in:

  • Entering transactions into an automated system.

  • Resolving issues for both internal and external clients.

  • Reconciling and correcting accounts.

  • Data collection, management and analysis.

  • Researching transactions and account discrepancies.

  • Gathering and compiling information.

  • Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications to create and update documents, reports, spreadsheets and email.

Ability to:

  • Identify and resolve transaction problems.

  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all organizational levels as well as internal and external customers.

  • Read, interpret, analyze and apply transaction information.

  • Analyze and solve problems.

  • Demonstrate efficiency and flexibility in performing detailed transactional tasks in a fast-paced work environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.

  • Provide a high level of customer service in responding to a high volume of telephone and email inquiries.

  • Work independently as well as collaboratively using initiative to solve problems and contribute to team efforts.

  • Ability to maintain composure and accomplish tasks in challenging or high-stress situations.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent and a minimum of two (2) years of related job experience. Or a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and zero to two (0-2) years of related job experience.

  • An equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training approved by Human Resources.
