Job Description Senior Data Visualization Analyst Position location is flexible and may office from a branch in Winona, MN or St. Paul, MN Full-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 7:00am - 5:00pm OVERVIEW: Working as Full-time Senior Data Visualization Analyst, you will be a portfolio leader within the Data Visualization and Analytics team aligning with a core area within the business. You will assist department management in mentoring other analysts, while also maintaining responsibility for creating visual representations of complex data analytics, utilizing Power BI and other tools, for Fastenal's Customers and Stakeholders. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals. RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: o Assisting with the development of the Data Visualization & Analytics Team's processes, workflow prioritization and team member skill building o Leading a portfolio of BI reporting for internal and/or external customers o Participating in customer presentations and business reviews as applicable o Socializing new technology, processes, and support structures to cross-functional departments and Stakeholders o Collaborating with stakeholders to identify and understand business challenges o Assisting in the requirements gathering and Scope of Work creation for new BI reporting projects o Motivating business users by providing actionable reporting insights while harnessing descriptive, diagnostic, prescriptive and predictive models o Designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining user-friendly report visualizations and dashboards o Identifying and efficiently extracting complex datasets from multiple sources o Creating data definitions for new database file/table development and/or changes to existing ones o Guiding the governance and role level security of data and reporting access o Guiding data integrity and validation, identifying anomalies and seeking corrective action when identified o Collaborating with Stakeholders, Leadership, Business Intelligence teams and Data Scientists across teams to leverage new models and standardize reporting needs o Assisting in peer code review and pre-deployment testing REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: The following skills and qualifications are required for this position: o Possess at least 1 year of relevant work experience o Possess a bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Intelligence, Business Administration, MIS, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field of study OR have at least 4 years of relevant work experience o Excellent written and oral communication skills o Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite o Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented o Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities o Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills o Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency o Work independently as well as in a team environment o Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork o Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY) PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: o Prior experience using analysis and visualization tools such as: Microsoft Power BI, R Studio, SAS JMP, Tableau, and Power Pivots o Prior programming or development knowledge using SQL o Project management experience o Experience with Confluence, Jira and SharePoint to manage program documentation and work progress o Previous work experience in supply chain management in a related industry with an understanding of MRO and OEM customer segments ABOUT US: Since 1967 Fastenal has grown as a distributor of industrial and construction supplies from a single branch to a Fortune 500 company with over 3,000 servicing locations, each providing ta lored local inventory and personal service for our customers.
