Description

The Retrieval Specialist will play a vital role in the data collection cycle within Retrieval Operations, which focuses on risk adjustment and quality improvement. In this role, you will collaborate with the Retrieval Operations team to manually retrieve charts from both internal and external Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems to support the overall chart operations retrieval effort. You will be responsible for downloading, reviewing, and saving these charts securely.

Requirements

• Perform duties as assigned by the Operations Manager or Director in support of annual data collection efforts.

• Demonstrate professional verbal and written communication skills in a virtual work environment across different time zones.

• Show proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and other similar applications.

• Organize and manage various data sets using Excel spreadsheets.

• Conduct claims research to determine the correct service location and/or verify member history.

• Perform provider outreach, including verifying and confirming provider demographics and medical record requests, both by phone and email.

• Request and follow up on medical records through database tools.

• Adhere to HIPAA standards, maintaining the confidentiality of Protected Health Information (PHI), and reporting critical incidents immediately.

• Review medical records for risk adjustment and HEDIS®-related measures via remote EMR access or onsite visits.
