WorkSource Oregon Rock Drill Equipment Operator in Springfield, Oregon

We are seeking Rock Drill Operators to join our team! This role is responsible for safely and efficiently operating hydraulic rock drills at quarries, mines, construction, and development projects throughout the United States. If you possess experience in heavy equipment operation, a strong mechanical aptitude, a passion for travel, and the determination to progress within a growing and stable organization, this could be an ideal opportunity for you. We offer a generous and progressive pay scale. Pay for this position DOE. Salary: \$70,000-\$100,000 per year. Job Requirements: - Valid driver\'s license with a driving record that includes no more than 3 moving violations and/or chargeable accidents in the last 3 years and no DUIIs. - Travel away from home (typically 5 days/week) is a required part of this position. We provide transportation from our headquarters in Springfield and lodging accommodations near the worksite. - We submit candidates to a background check through the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to screen felony records as appropriate in compliance with federal government restrictions. - We will administer a pre-employment drug test and physical. For safety reasons, we have a zero-tolerance drug policy, including marijuana use. - Physical requirement to lift 50 pounds and work on feet for long hours. - Adaptable; to adjust to changing circumstances, new tasks and environments. - Motivated and result-oriented with the persistence to complete challenging projects on time and to a high standard. - To work well with both a team and independently when working in remote locations. - Mechanically inclined to perform routine maintenance on drilling equipment. Job Duties: - Safely and efficiently operate hydraulic drills on construction, rock quarry sites, mines, solar fields, development, and other specialty projects. - Perform daily maintenance activities required for safe, efficient operation of assigned equipment. - Complete necessary equipment pre-operation inspections, workplace examinations and paperwork per company policy. - Understand different drill patterns and terminology then executes drill pattern and layout as established by Project Managers. - Ensure drill hole quality after drilling each hole and at the completion of the project. - Continuously update the Project Managers on the progress of project completion. - Deploy automated drill log mobile application to execute the project\'s drill pattern design and capture drill hole data. - Occasionally assists with blasting operations. - Perform general housekeeping duties to continuously maintain a safe, clean work environment. - View safety as paramount and continually works with team members to maintain a safe operation. - Conduct daily safety inspections on equipment and worksites to identify and address potential hazards. - Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
