Job Title: Production Operator (Plastic Extrusion)

General Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Production Operator to oversee the extrusion process of plastic products. The role involves ensuring product quality, operational efficiency, and adherence to safety protocols. The ideal candidate will be proactive in process improvement and possess strong problem-solving skills.

Shift Time: Monday to Friday 11:00pm to 7:05am

Pay Rate: $18/hour

Essential Job Functions:

• Efficiently set up and operate machinery, monitor material usage, and manage changeovers.

• Actively participate in quality management through dimensional and visual inspections, implementing corrective actions as necessary.

• Document measurements and production data using the PDQCR system.

• Engage in continuous improvement activities, providing feedback for process optimization.

• Prepare finished goods for shipment according to written specifications.

• Identify, label, and manage non-conforming materials.

• Provide and acquire cross-training on production processes.

• Ensure safety compliance by using proper PPE and following operational protocols.

• Perform predictive/preventative maintenance on equipment.

Skills and Abilities:

• Effective communication with coworkers and management.

• Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and meet standards without direct supervision.

• Proficiency in utilizing provided quality tools and systems.

• Basic computer skills, including data entry and navigation of internal programs.

• Troubleshooting skills to offer resolutions and suggestions to support staff.

Work Environment:

• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, and lift up to 40 pounds. Visual inspection of products and use of computer screens.

Basic Position Overview for the Candidate:

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections to maintain quality standards.

• Prepare finished goods for shipment according to customer specifications.

• Must be able to handle physical demands and work with computers.
