SUMMARY

Responsible for leading and managing a company-wide Quality System designed to monitor and analyze the efficacy of business and manufacturing processes so they achieve or exceed internal targets and external customer demands.

Leads Quality Supervisors and Quality Engineers in efforts to develop, communicate, and implement metrics to meet business objectives and program deliverables.

The Global Director of Quality is a key stakeholder representing the department to internal leadership, and the Organization to customers and suppliers relating to Quality.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Designs and implements a closed-loop, integrated warranty analysis system utilizing current levels of technology that provides quick and efficient access to warranty data.
  • Reviews the data with customer's and supplier's teams to ensure the root cause and ownership is properly defined.
  • Utilizing the data obtained from analysis processes to drive improvements through the appropriate teams.
  • Provides leadership to the analysis team to achieve a high rate of root cause identification with warranty products to reduce warranty-related expenses and amount of "no trouble found" results.
  • Develops solid working relationships with customer counterparts.
  • Responsible for development and adherence to Organization policies, procedures and instructions of the Quality, Global Materials Management Operations Guidelines (MMOG) and ISO 14001 systems.
  • Product and Model Process Control Plan development, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Facilitate cross-functional Preventative and Corrective action plans based on internal and external quality results. (Yield, Warranty and or customer PPM) failure analysis on customer returns to ensure quick turnaround time and responsiveness.
  • Mentor cross-functional teams (Process/Product Improvement teams) teams for effective "root cause" analysis, corrective and preventative action. This position will include the training of other groups on a routine basis.
  • Coordinating customer visits.
  • Quality Assurance (QA) portion of APQP (PPAP) on product launches.
  • Resolving critical issues/situations ensuring that they are handled correctly and within current policy/procedure guidelines.
  • Represent Quality in Lean activities.
  • Leads and directly supervises Quality Engineers and Quality Supervisors (approximately 25 non-supervisory employees in the Quality Engineering and Rejection and Repair departments).
  • Responsible for the direction, coordination, and evaluation of direct reports and departments.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizational chart, company policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
