As a liquor distributor, your primary responsibility is to manage the distribution of alcoholic beverages to various retail establishments, including liquor stores, bars, restaurants, and hotels. Your role involves ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of products to meet customer demands while adhering to legal regulations and company policies. Below are the key duties and responsibilities associated with this position:

  1. Distribution Management:

    • Coordinate the distribution of alcoholic beverages from warehouses or production facilities to retail outlets.
    • Develop and maintain efficient routes for delivery vehicles to optimize delivery times and reduce costs.
    • Monitor inventory levels at distribution centers and ensure adequate stock levels to meet customer demands.
    • Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to coordinate deliveries and manage product availability.
  2. Customer Service:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with retail customers to understand their needs and preferences.
    • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and effectively.
    • Provide product information, pricing, and promotional offers to customers as needed.
    • Collaborate with sales teams to identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling products.
  3. Regulatory Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing the sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages.
    • Verify the legal drinking age of customers and ensure that all sales are made in accordance with age verification requirements.
    • Maintain accurate records of inventory, sales, and deliveries to comply with regulatory reporting requirements.
  4. Quality Control:

    • Inspect incoming shipments of alcoholic beverages for quality and accuracy.
    • Ensure that products are stored and transported in compliance with regulatory standards and manufacturer guidelines.
    • Monitor product freshness and shelf life to minimize waste and maximize customer satisfaction.
  5. Operational Efficiency:

    • Implement and maintain efficient distribution processes to minimize costs and improve productivity.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to streamline operations.
    • Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to optimize inventory management and order fulfillment processes.
  6. Health and Safety:

    • Promote a culture of safety among distribution team members and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
    • Provide training on safe handling practices and procedures for transporting and storing alcoholic beverages.
    • Conduct regular inspections of distribution facilities and vehicles to identify and address potential hazards.
