Mentor Technical Group Asset Management Sourcing Specialist in South San Francisco, California

Responsibilities:

  • Source equipment, tools, programs, or services to meet specialized or complex asset management needs.

  • Make sourcing/purchasing recommendations in accordance with company procedures and regulations.

  • Analyze purchase requisitions and review for accuracy and completion.

  • Collaborate with department managers to clarify maintenance/calibration and departmental needs; refine specifications for accurate sourcing & planning of maintenance/calibration activities

  • Investigate and document new sources for equipment, tools, programs or services

  • Research and prepare bid specifications

  • Issue bid requests to several potential vendors and suppliers

  • Review quotes and secure the most competitive bids

  • Identify and select vendors and suppliers using criteria such as quantity and quality of commodities, price, and delivery

date

  • Explain and clarify sourcing/ purchasing procedures to internal departments as well as vendors

  • Determine the correct method to process purchase orders according to total cost, timeliness, competitive bidding, and

existing contracts.

  • Place orders to procure requisitioned items or services according to delegation and specific parameters to abide to

  • Process purchasing transactions according to local, state, and federal policies and procedures

  • Solve problems with orders in an efficient and timely manner.

  • Plan and schedule maintenance/calibration/replacement of assets

  • Document deviations to standard sourcing, planning, and sourcing issues and solve in alignment to Laboratory Asset Lead and Asset Management Director

Qualifications Requirements/Knowledge/Education/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Industrial engineering or related field.

  • In lieu of degree, 2-year college technical school 10+ years of experience required or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in the sciences or engineering field which provides the requisite knowledge, skills,and abilities for this job.
