PAY RATE

$12-$15 per hour

DESCRIPTION

Salary Range - $12-$15 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:To provide to visitors of the Bellville Softball Complex quality customer service when purchasing food and beverage product.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as representative of the City of South Bend, demonstration a positive attitude and progressive actions through the display of professionalism, courtesy, and appropriate tact and discretion in all interactions with the other employees and with the public.
  • Works with Concession Manager and Softball Commissioner in providing quality product and service.
  • Report for work dressed appropriately and in accordance with health department guidelines.
  • Responsible for keeping facility in A+ cleanliness condition at all times.
  • Responsible for following health department guidelines in dealing with the preparation and serving of all food.
  • Performs other duties as requested
  • Serves food, beverages, or desserts to customers from Concession Stand.
  • Responsible for accepting payment or making change for food or beverages, using cash registers, calculators, or adding machines.
  • Cooks food or prepare food items, such as sandwiches, hot dogs, and ice cream dishes, using microwave, grill or warmer.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Knowledgeable and experienced in working with money and making change
  • Must be able to learn and maintain knowledge of equipment and procedures in the concession facility.
  • Knowledge of the operation of food and drink equipment that is used in daily operations
  • Experienced with the use of 10-Key Calculator or with cash register

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be a minimum of 16 years of age.
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends.
  • Must possess good communications skills. .

CERTIFICATES, LICENSE, REGISTRATION:

  • Valid Indiana Drivers License if driving a City vehicle
  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certification or able to obtain within days of the program beginning

EQUIPMENT:Cash register, automobile, telephone, calculator, various concession equipment, broom, mop, sweeper, ice machine, popcorn machine, grill, warmers, alarm system, coffee machine, freezer, walk-in cooler, cheese dispenser, microwave, and fountain dispenser.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and walk, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands to fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. WORK ENVIRONMENT:Work is performed at a park and softball facility with an office and concession stand. The noise level at the facility can be moderate to loud. The employee will be exposed to various weather conditions.
