Description

Design, program, test, and implement computer control systems used for production automation and industrial equipment design. Implement programs on programmable logic controllers and test industrial computer process information and functionality. Debug issues and troubleshoot problems that have non-standard solutions. Assess the functionality of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems. Design and install Control Systems software, analyze system requirements, write and install custom programmable logic code, test system efficiency, and provide operational support. Identify and design a robust program fit for any mechanical or electrical purpose.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Excellent knowledge of machine mechanics, have logical approach mentality, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.2. Drawing electrical or mechanical schematics to demonstrate how processes will work.3. Developing and installing machine programs using automation software and custom coding languages.4. Determining machine automation test criteria before the final installation.5. Testing automated systems for efficiency, safety, and reliability.6. Troubleshooting system errors.7. Overseeing the successful installation of PLC programs.8. Documenting development processes.9. Providing clients with technical support.10. Excellent knowledge of machine mechanics, a logical approach.11. Troubleshoot electrical problems12. Provide preventive, predictive and repair maintenance

13.Report food safety and quality issues to Plant management and SQFP

  1. Follow PIM Brands GMP rules15. Plan and execute assignments within the guidelines of instruction provided by supervisory personnel.16. Install equipment as directed.17. Immediately reports electrical or equipment problems to plant and/or mechanical supervisors.18. Performs all functions in a safe and cautious manner.19. Immediately reports all safety concerns to plant management and/or maintenance supervisors.20. Ensures that maintenance to all electrical equipment is completed and complies with customer specifications, and ensures that food safety and quality are not jeopardized by complying with all GMP and HAACP Guidelines as well as SOPs21. Ensures maintenance of electrical equipment complies with desired processing rates.22. Ability to work additional hours and off shifts as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSWalking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, lifting, climbing, pushing and pulling. Must be able to closely examine equipment, machinery and parts. Must have dexterity necessary to work with tools and small parts. Able to lift at least 50lbs. Reasonable accommodations will be considered and evaluated that assist individuals perform the essential functions of the job. Physically capable to do heavy labor work.

WORK ENVIRONMENTJob will generally be performed in a laboratory environment in the manufacturing plant. When on the plant floor it is representative of a large, busy manufacturing operation. Noisy, active, objects on the floor, constant movement and traffic flow of motorized equipment. Stationary and moving equipment is located throughout the plant. Work on machinery and equipment may present cramped or close quarters. Hair net, beard net, assigned work uniform, protective eye wear and gloves are among the GMP required apparel that must be worn, if indicated, on the plant floor.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAININGHigh School education or equivalent required.Electrical training is strongly preferred from a trade or vocational school.4 years of electrical controls experience in an industrial complex is required.Must have prior experience maintaining and troubleshooting electrical and electronic equipmentMust have advanced skills with troubleshooting and programming techniques for PLC's, electromechanical sensors and controllers.
