Cargill Business Development & Solution Manager, Chocolate & Ice Cream in Singapore, Singapore

Job Purpose and Impact

The Business & Solution Manager, Chocolate & Ice Cream, develops the commercial innovate & growth strategy and roadmap to reposition Cargill as a go-to-expert for differentiating indulging solutions, and develop and implement the product portfolio to enable indulgence growth. He/she leads and drives the commercial execution in collaboration with other key functions, and works closely work together with Marketing to develop our new solutions and value propositions; and with Sales teams to bring these to market. Overall, category manager will be responsible for our commercial targets for growth, including the innovation pipeline and prospecting. He/She will ensure we can offer the envisaged solution by building the capabilities and capacities to realize the business’ growth plans. He/she will also ensure that these capabilities are used effectively in the execution of the plan. Through managing stakeholders internally but also externally with companies we partner with, the Solutions Manager has a key role to enable our vision to double the business by 2030.

Key Accountabilities

Strategy

  • Set the strategic commercial direction, with key focus areas for growth in the respective category.

  • Develops the strategy to build the needed capacities and capabilities for our future-proof product portfolio (Category Architecture) to realize our growth strategy. Strategy is built on collected insights from the market, Business Development, Strategic Marketing, PPD/TSS and Sales.

  • Translate the strategy in a roadmap for a X-functional team, with clear priorities, deliverables, and milestones

  • Lead the execution of the roadmap with wide group of internal and external stakeholders

Solution management

  • Develops and executes a future-proof Category Architecture, ie from our current product portfolio up to our portfolio that sets us up for future success.

  • Leads the development and the build of the required asset footprint, by partnering with other companies, buying or building own capacity or capabilities

  • Delivers the physical solutions.

  • Provides expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You may provide direction to supporting team members and will be a strategic contributor.

Business Development

  • Market Analysis & opportunity identification

  • Product development & VP creations

  • Activation to the market

  • Partners collaboratively with commercial stakeholders to develop, implement and handle business development sales programs across various channels, works closely with key stakeholders to understand business requirements and market needs and collaborates with business teams.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • Experience using project management tools and applications

  • Advanced skills with word processing and spreadsheet applications

  • Experience with finance, including handling budgets and business decision metrics

  • Experience in go to market, including leading projects, handling resources, preparing launches and tracking results

  • Understand how to develop and bring creative innovations to market, mastering value proposition and value capture strategies

  • Minimum of six years of related work experience

  • Other minimum qualifications may apply

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience, eg Food Science and/or MBA

  • Minimum of 10 + years of related work experience, like business development, (technical-) sales etc

  • Experience collaborating and leading X-functional teams and with different levels in the organization

  • Proven track record in business development, building new businesses, commercializing innovations or development of insight based Value propositions

  • Solid Business & Commercial skills, with a strategic approach

  • Recognize and pursue new market segments and opportunities for business development, calculating return

  • Strong communicator and stakeholder manager, proven commercial acumen

  • Strong in conceptualization
