The Unit Coordinator at the Facility manages the clerical functions of the nursing unit necessary to provide patient care. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. Staff must demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensures adequate staffing on unit to meet patient demand and adjusts accordingly as needed.

  • Manages nursing payroll and completes in a timely manner.

  • Assists CNO and Nurse Managers with various administrative and clerical tasks as assigned.

  • Manages PRN pool effectively and audits compliance with program.

  • Advises CNO, Nurse Managers and House Supervisor of pending staffing issues. Is proactive in the resolution of said issues.

    Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. One (1) year experience working with a psychiatric patient population and previous secretarial experience preferred.

  • License: Medical Assistant Certification preferred.

  • Experience: One (1) year experience working with a psychiatric patient population and previous secretarial experience preferred.

  • Hours: Determined by the Chief Nursing Officer, according to the needs of the facility
