Universal Health Services Program Manager - Star Program in SHREVEPORT, Louisiana

Responsibilities

Brentwood Hospital is looking for a dynamic Program Manager for the Star Program for Uniformed Services at Brentwood Hospital! The Program Manager is a member of the Hospital’s social service staff assigned to coordinate the care of the Star Program for Uniformed Services referrals admitted for inpatient treatment. Additionally, this role provides quality case management and psychotherapeutic services to various populations, and their families, spouse or significant other; to serve as a member of interdisciplinary team supporting the organization’s treatment program and philosophy and assure the deliverance of quality treatment of patients and their families.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Tracks clinical documentation to ensure all paperwork (admission, discharge, and weekly) is completed by required time-lines and is in compliance with regulations.

  • Serves as point of contact for referring Active Duty Providers and Veterans Affairs (VA) providers

  • Available to accept referrals at any time, not limited to 8-hour work days.

  • Assure communication with VA referral sources, track patient authorization for treatment and referral on to the next level of VA care if private care not authorized. Develop improved communication with VA referral sources.

  • Assists with program development and facilitates training to clinicians, nurses and MHTs regarding treatment modalities, policies, programming, precaution plans/statuses, etc.

  • Demonstrates a positive working relationship with all departments, unit staff, and treatment team members and facilitates immediate problem solving by providing pertinent information to various departments through use of verbal & electronic communication.

  • Provides input regarding the structure of the milieu and assists with the development of individualized special programs. Serves as a role model, support, and provides feedback to clinicians and nursing through guidance, modeling, and mentoring both individually and within the milieu environment.

  • Coordinates referrals with Intake and Clinicians to provide timely feedback to referral sources and schedule admissions.

  • Assure an active role in the team to expand service lines, maintain/increase referral base, and supporting the overall business development strategies of the program.

  • Work with referrals from the Reserves, National Guard, and other Uniformed Services to facilitate activation of benefits, clarification of treatment needs, and admissions and discharge coordination of care.

    Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

· Master's Degree in Behavioral Health; Currently licensed by Louisiana LPC / LSBSWE required.

· A working knowledge of behavioral health management practices and clinical operations.

· An advanced knowledge of state and federal regulatory and various accreditation requirements related to behavioral health management.

· Some overnight travel required

· Veteran Required
