CACI has an exciting and immediate opportunity for an Operations Floor Systems/Network Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the US Air Force Central Command (USAFCENT) Network Operations Security Center (NOSC). This position works at the customer on-site Tier 2/3 support location at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina in a service provider capacity to Air Force customers throughout Southwest Asia. This is a shift work position in a work center providing 24x7x365 support.

Shaw AFB is conveniently located. A 2-hour drive to the north gets you to Charlotte, NC, to the east is Myrtle Beach, and Charleston, SC is to the south. The state capital of Columbia is less than an hour’s drive and where many workers live. You’ll have access to big city excitement, a quiet beach walk or small-town Southern hospitality.

More About the Role:

  • Serve as the Operations section/shift lead.

  • Supervise the other functional areas of the ACCC.

  • Provide 24/7 Tier 2 enterprise IT help desk support.

  • Troubleshoot escalated complex systems/network hardware, software, and services problems.

  • Troubleshoot and implement solutions to resolve incidents and problems on supported systems/network infrastructure, to include enterprise-level servers, firewalls, proxies, caching arrays, load balancers, etc.

  • Manage and support an extensive VMWare vSphere architecture running on a converged storage area network architecture.

  • Manage and monitor the USAFCENT theater-wide Active Directory Forest along with its associated Active Directory Domains.

  • Manage and monitor the USAFCNET Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) to include root Certificate Authorities (CAs)

  • Document processes and logic diagrams for tasks on NOSC operations floor and processes used by support technicians.

  • Research and analyze network topology via NOSC automated toolsets and networking metrics to ascertain connectivity, topology, and status to recognize sub-standard network performance.

  • Develop reports and trend analysis documentation on bandwidth and network security incidents.

  • Use the Firewall toolset to analyze and report on the health of local and deployed firewalls.

  • Perform enterprise-level firewall fault isolation and correction to include troubleshooting ACLs affecting other network traffic.

  • Perform local installation, and local/remote firewall administration.

  • Develop and maintain training plans for operations floor positions.

  • Mentor and train operations personnel on new system installations and operating application upgrades.

  • Provide oral and written briefs, presentations, and professional reports to Government senior leaders and decision makers.

  • Provide on-call support after hours, on weekends and holidays.

  • Develop and review detailed or complex technical documents.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret clearance prior to start date.

  • BS in related field AND 5 or more years’ relevant experience; OR 7 or more years’ relevant experience.

  • Relevant experience

  • Possess experience and demonstrate an understanding with installation of Microsoft Windows Server in Host and Compute Environments, and Windows Server 2012 using server images; Experience with implementation of storage solutions, window containers, high availability, Domain Name Systems (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), network connectivity and remote access solutions, core and distributed network solutions, advance network infrastructure, and maintain and monitor server environments.

  • Possess experience and demonstrate an understanding with managing Microsoft users and permissions, creating active directory domain services (AD DS) forests, designing server infrastructure, troubleshooting networks, and protecting network and user data.

  • Unix/Linux, Firewall and HBSS experience

  • TCP/IP Fundamentals

  • DoD 8570 IAT II Baseline Certification (Security+ CE, CCNA-Sec or equivalent).

  • Completion of additional Professional Certifications.

  • VMware Certified Technical Associate (VCTA)

  • CCNA

  • Unix/Linux

  • ITIL Foundation within 60 days of your start date

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$56,000 - $117,500
