Microsoft Corporation Senior Software Engineer - Java Tooling in Shanghai, China

As part of the Developer Division China team, our mission is to enable developers to unleash the power of Microsoft’s cloud platforms. We are looking for Software Engineers to help us build tools and services that improve the development experience.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work with other engineers, PMs, and partner teams to:

  • Design and implement high-quality, reliable tools, frameworks, and services on time.

  • Ensure that all tools and services are monitored, healthy, and highly reliable.

  • Ensure our products and engineering systems are compliant with regulations and policies.

  • Be responsible for quickly detecting, mitigating, and resolving any issues from customers and partners.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software development experience with at least one major programming language like Java, Node.js, C#, C/C++, etc.

  • Good understanding of cloud-native application development.

  • Great problem-solving skills.

  • A mindset of driving high-quality software by adopting engineering best practices and tools.

  • Good teamwork skills.

  • Willingness to explore and apply new approaches and technologies.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience in developing GUI/desktop applications and plugins for JetBrains IDEs is a plus.
