The Specialist, Commercial Strategy will be part of the US Onshore Supply Chain Management team and will support the Commodities and Materials team in Seminole, TX managing both short and long term planning as well as in controlling program execution while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. This will be done by working closely with the Assets, Plants and Operational Support groups to gather, analyze and reconcile all necessary data to allow execution of these plans. 

The Material Specialist/Specialist, Commercial Strategy plays a pivotal role in overseeing, coordinating, analyzing, and reporting warehousing/storage and transportation activities. Working closely with Construction, Operations, Facilities, Drilling and Finance to ensure efficient material management processes. This position is based in the field office or field warehouse. The Material Specialist reports directly to the Inventory and Warehouse Manager. 

Key Responsibilities:

•    Responsible for material inventory management, control, and replenishment with established critical stock, inventory target levels, and inventory turn targets for the region.
•    Responsible for following Inventory management policy and procedures such as inventory accuracy, transfers, and cycle counts. 
•    Foster open and effective communication between all departments, collaborating with Warehouse, Drill Site Managers, Construction Specialists, Inspectors, Workover & Completions Specialists, Lease and Plant Operators, and Finance to accurately track and account for material movements.
•    Organize and oversee warehouse and yard operations in a safe, effective, secure, and controlled manner.
•    Assist in the management and planning of inventory requirements, balancing investment and demand while considering operational conditions, seasonal fluctuations, and changing market dynamics.
•    Coordinate periodic surplus stock sales and provide regular reports on inventory values, stock turns, and related metrics to supervisors and proponents.
•    Support coordination with proponent groups and Finance to track and report on material refurbishment and scrap rates (e.g., OCTG, rods, valves, etc.).
•    Provide feedback on supplier performance to supervisors and proponents.
•    Lead safety initiatives related to Supply Chain Management (SCM) and serve as a positive role model for safety initiatives, procedures, and practices.

Qualifications

Required: 

•    Undergraduate degree (preferred) in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management.
•    Minimum 3 years experience with degree or minimum 5 years without a degree in materials management and accounting principles. 
•    Excellent interpersonal, oral & written communication, computer and organizational skills.
•    Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in order to meet deadlines.
•    General knowledge of oil and gas drilling and production operations.
•    Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point

Desired: 

•    Supply Chain Management experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, contract administration or inventory management.
•    General knowledge of inventory management policy and procedures.
•    General knowledge of procurement policy and procedures.
•    Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Finance/Inventory modules (SAP)
