Alamo Group Inc. Mounting Kit Technician in Seguin, Texas

Position Summary:

Under general supervision, installs assembly components and mount kit components safely and accurately onto tractors for at least 2 out of the 5 processes that are required in the tractor mount area in accordance with monthly schedule needs.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  1. Installs parts for mount kits and assemblies onto tractors.

  2. Mechanical skills , know how to use wrenches, powered drills, impacts, etc.

  3. Ensures quality of work to product specifications and standards. Utilizes and reads precision measuring equipment including gauges, tape measure, squares, levels , torque wrenches, etc., accurately.

  4. Operates forklift and/or overhead crane to move products work stations.

  5. Uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) required to perform each assignment and performs all assigned duties in a safe manner.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):

  1. Able to read and use precision measuring devises and equipment accurately like tape measure, squares, levels, calculator, torque wrenches etc.

  2. Ability to read instructions, blueprints, drawings, and owner's manuals.

  3. Knowledge and use of hand tools, and ability to operate forklift and overhead crane.

  4. Good mechanical aptitude/ability.

  5. Knowledge and ability to fabricate and assemble parts as needed to meet assembly processes.

  6. Knowledge of hydraulic hoses installations

  7. Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Education and Experience:

  1. High school diploma or GED certificate preferred.

  2. One to 3 years previous manufacturing.

Working Conditions:

  1. Ability to lift, push or pull up to 35 pounds alone and greater than 35 pounds with assistance.

  2. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time (up to 8+ hours) as required by tasks being completed.

  3. Ability to wear appropriate PPE, including hearing/eye protection, gloves and safety shoes.

  4. Must be able to work overtime as needed to complete job assignments.

  5. Ability to work in a non-climate controlled manufacturing plant environment.

  6. Must be able to work in confined spaces.

  7. Must be able to tolerate heights.

  8. Frequent walking, bending, stooping, reaching and climbing as required by tasks being completed.
