Amazon Sr. Product Manager-Technical, Amazon Financial Foundation Services in Seattle, Washington

We are seeking an experienced, creative, and highly motivated Senior Technical Product Manager. In this role, you will define, execute, and deliver a global product roadmap that adds significant incremental value to Amazon's customer groups. You will own core products within the accounts receivable space, including setting the product strategy and vision, developing and prioritizing new features, making technical scoping and trade-off decisions, and overseeing deployment. This is an inherently cross-functional role – you will work closely with engineering, business, operations, data science, finance, and executive teams to bring features to market and develop and grow business opportunities for Amazon. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of owning and delivering high-quality products from initial visioning through deployment. They must be highly analytical, able to work extremely effectively in a matrix organization, and adept at synthesizing various technologies and capabilities into high-quality, simple products and applications that customers love.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Product Vision: Define and align the product vision with business goals, leveraging industry knowledge to ensure the product stays current.

  2. Strategy, Roadmap, and Requirements: Develop the product roadmap, prioritize releases, translate customer needs into requirements, and deliver in a consistent cadence.

  3. Execution: Ensure consistent execution of the product lifecycle from concept to launch, advocating for your area of focus.

  4. Adoption: Plan and coordinate product launches across teams, delivering necessary materials and communications.

  5. Project Management: Define plans to achieve the product vision and business results. Coordinate activities into releases, working closely with engineering in an agile environment. Manage schedules, risks, and trade-offs.

  6. Communications: Facilitate meetings, deliver appropriate messaging to leadership, capture key decisions, and manage effective communication to stakeholders using company protocols.

The Amazon Financial Foundation Services (AFFS) team is dedicated to empowering Amazon businesses with robust financial management capabilities. We are building the next generation of cloud-based core financial management suites that deliver complete, accurate, timely, and auditable financial records. Our solutions streamline financial reporting, operational processes (planning, analysis, accounts payable, accounts receivable), tax compliance, statutory reporting, regulatory compliance, and managerial decision-making.

We focus on creating intuitive user experiences that leverage the power of AI, ML and LLMs. By harnessing these advanced technologies, we expedite financial business processes for Amazon stakeholders enabling them to operate with unparalleled efficiency and effectiveness.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

  • Experience managing technical products or online services

  • Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience bridging technical and business teams to collect and refine requirements, prioritize incoming work requests, and ensure all committed work is delivered on time

  • Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools

  • • Expertise in domain areas such as billing, invoicing, cash application, collection, or accounting. • Experience leading financial systems product development with technical depth • Proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and driving innovation on behalf of internal and external customers • Comfortable assessing and taking risks • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions • Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage tradeoffs, and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partners

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $121,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
