Amazon is seeking to hire a product manager for Amazon Linux operating system. As a senior PMT for External Services at AWS, you will own the long-term vision and roadmap for Amazon Linux.

Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) is looking for a dynamic and seasoned product leader to help define and build the future of cloud computing. Customers around the world rely on Amazon EC2 to provide elastic, high performance, secure, and cost effective resources to scale their infrastructure to keep up with their changing business needs. Within EC2, you will work on the team that delivers the Amazon Linux operating system. As a member of the EC2 Product Management team, you will join other highly respected product and engineering leaders to create the future of the computing platform.

We are looking for a Product manager who will own and drive product management for Amazon Linux, the Linux distribution which powers AWS services and is the most popular operating system used by customers to run their workloads on AWS.

You will have strong ownership over portfolio strategy, product definition, feature prioritization, messaging, pricing (if applicable), adoption, customer interaction, sales enablement, etc. This is a high visibility and high impact role that will interact with all levels of AWS leadership.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead the definition and execution of the product strategy for Amazon Linux.

  • Define and gather the necessary inputs to make high-quality product and roadmap decisions.

  • Work with leaders across AWS, Amazon, and our partners to drive towards our vision.

  • Define project requirements, priorities, methods for measurement and track their execution and success.

  • Communicate with senior management on project status, strategy, risks, and issues.

  • Work closely with multiple engineering teams to deliver results for customers.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product management with internet business experience

  • 5+ years of working as a Technical Product Manager experience

  • 3+ years of technical (software development, network development, IT, other related) experience

  • Experience in taking a product from conception & definition phase through engineering design and taking it to market

  • Experience delivering large-scale SaaS, PaaS or LaaS products where you are responsible for the full product lifecycle, from concept through GTM (go to market)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

  • Experience working within teams delivering software products and features using agile methodologies

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $137,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $236,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
