Mott MacDonald Group Project Manager - Rolling Stock in Seattle, Washington

Mott MacDonald is currently seeking a rolling stock Project Manager/Rolling Stock Engineer to manage and lead key rolling stock projects and support business growth in North America. This candidate will be based in our Salt Lake City, UT office and will be responsible for the following: Leading rolling stock engineering consulting teams for relevant consulting services Offering strategic consultancy advice and planning to devise solutions for rail fleet expansion, upgrades, overhauls, procurement, and new technologies Monitoring the progress of projects and collaborating with clients and stakeholders to resolve critical technical issues Overseeing and managing contract budgets Providing rolling stock project management and technical expertise to both external and internal clients Maintaining and building client relationships to grow the business Providing strategic advice and oversight of vehicle procurement, and performance improvement projects Collaborating with other disciplines to ensure rolling stock integration is addressed Candidate Specification : We are seeking a rolling stock Project Manager/Rolling Stock Engineer to manage and lead key rolling stock projects, with the ideal candidate possessing the following qualifications and experience: A bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering; Professional Engineer (PE) registration or equivalent is preferred Minimum 10-years of experience as a rolling stock Project Manager/Engineer Proficient in rail vehicle procurement, specification development, general engineering, design reviews, and systems integration. Experience in testing and commissioning, maintenance, overhaul, and operational aspects is considered advantageous Well-versed in various rail modes, vehicle types, and suppliers Must have strong communication skills, and experience in: client representation managing contract budgets project management procurement design review asset management systems integration producing technical specifications and report writing general knowledge and appreciation of recognized industry standards and best practice related to rail vehicles developing proposals to provide engineering services and technical support.
