Amazon Finance Manager, Sub Same Day Operations Field Execution in Seattle, Washington

If so, Rapid and Rural Logistics (R2L) Finance is looking for a Finance Manager with a record of achieving results.

The Rapid and Rural Logistics team covers a portfolio of high-growth businesses with unique fulfillment and operational capabilities such as Sub Same Day (SSD), Rural Super Rural (RSR), and Amazon Today. Our Finance teams partner closely with our operations teams to influence the strategic direction of the business, drive operations excellence, and make sound investment and expansion decisions, with the primary goal of continuously improving the customer experience while driving long-term profitability for our portfolio of businesses. We experiment constantly, fail fast, and never stop learning.

The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to influence business owners, support thoughtful decision-making, and adapt to a rapidly-evolving environment. They will collaborate with executives and business units across Amazon, bring excellent verbal and written communication skills, and prioritize the most impactful projects and programs to drive businesses forward. A typical day in this role provides an opportunity of building innovative solutions with large-scale data mining tools, identifying high-priority work and projects that maximize results for key stakeholders, and solving complex problems that impact company-wide strategic decisions.

Key job responsibilities

  • Leverage financial knowledge and business acumen to build financial models, interpret data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations that deliver results, drive improvements, and influence leaders throughout Amazon

  • Deliver financial reporting/planning working across stakeholders to understand input drivers, validate reporting integrity, and influence strategic decision-making and action plans

  • Make thoughtful judgement calls in ambiguous environments where data may be scarce or difficult to procure.

  • Use active listening skills and communicate data (both written and verbal) in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner. Adjust style for various audiences to articulate complex finance issues clearly

  • Participates in hiring, developing, and mentoring peers and team members. Seeks and leverages diverse perspectives

Basic Qualifications

  • BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science)

  • 5+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $81,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
