Amazon Finance Manager, Rest of the World Emerging Stores in Seattle, Washington

Amazon seeks a Finance Manager to join the Rest of the World Emerging Stores team supporting the Global Purchasing Program (GPP). Focus of the group is to find ways to serve more customers around the world by leveraging Amazon’s scale. The Finance Manager will partner with multiple leaders across GPP Program and Product, Tech, Supply Chain, and Business Development to provide strategic guidance and thought leadership for short and long-range investment decisions, build mechanisms and tools to surface key analytical insights, dive deep into large sets of data, prioritize and deliver projects that aim to continuously improve our scale and efficiency. This role requires close coordination with senior leaders (L7 & L8) and provides exposure to finance and business partners around the world. Successful candidate will be a self-starter with business modeling skills, a keen attention to detail, a track record of influencing business partners with data-driven insights, and the ability to move fast. Communication and collaboration are key, as the individual must interact with numerous functions and teams within Amazon.

Key job responsibilities

  • Drive investment strategy discussion via insightful and relevant analysis

  • Partners with Senior leadership to evaluate the financial impact of decisions

  • Builds financial projections for innovative growth models

  • Partner with various business and tech teams to become a subject matter expert on systems and outcomes

Basic Qualifications

  • BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science) and 5+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

  • Experience communicating results to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $81,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
