Business Intelligence (BI) enhances internal teams’ decision-making by providing data analysis and developing measures to extract meaning from Amazon Advertising’s global operations. We are looking for an experienced manager to join our organization and build a team that will create data infrastructure and unlock insights which take our products and programs to the next level. Successful attributes include, effective communicator and leader of various levels and audiences, the capacity to remain flexible and adept at learning new tools, and the facility to implement new systems within a team atmosphere. Our environment is deadline driven and fast paced and therefore requires detail-oriented individuals comfortable interacting or working with multiple teams (business and technical).

As you further your career as a Business Intelligence Manager in Amazon Advertising, you will focus on improving corporate reporting frameworks and data visualization. You will build capacity solutions for the growing managed businesses. You will solve real world problems and build metrics and business cases to improve decision making.

Key job responsibilities

• Evolve Day to Day operations reporting mechanisms

• Work with teams from across Amazon to improve data quality within their respective products and platforms

• Drive operational excellence for data ingestion, transformation and publication to ensure confidence in the systems we build

• Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation

• Manage the request intake process for the team and prioritize different tasks in partnership with all stakeholders

• Manage multiple projects and proactively communicates issues, priorities, and objectives

• Champion adoption of self-service analytical tools and reporting environments

• Lead and coach a team of Business Intelligence Engineers

• Think long-term and create strategic roadmaps for the BI and visualizations space

• Lead design, development and implementation of our analytics services/products to provide stakeholders with structured access to data and insights

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of business intelligence and analytics experience

  • 5+ years of delivering results managing a business intelligence or analytics team, including employee development and performance management experience

  • Experience with SQL

  • Experience with ETL

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

  • Experience with R, Python, Weka, SAS, Matlab or other statistical/machine learning software

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of working with very large data warehousing environment experience

  • 10+ years of data warehouse technical architectures, data modeling, infrastructure components, ETL/ ELT and reporting/analytic tools and environments, data structures and hands-on SQL coding experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
