Amazon Associate Corporate Counsel, Transportation Services in Seattle, Washington

Here is your opportunity to join Amazon’s Transportation Services Legal team and help build products that our customers will love!

We are looking for a smart, motivated attorney to provide legal support for our rapidly growing and evolving transportation and fulfillment business teams. You will be an integral part of the business teams you support, providing product counseling to new products and services, serving as counsel on strategic commercial deals and regulatory matters, resolving issues that arise in commercial relationships, and handling pre-litigation disputes and inquiries. You will help the business teams develop programs and tools to continually improve both seller experience and end customer experience. You will develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways and you will build processes that address risk and provide us with the flexibility and freedom to move quickly.

As you will be working with central business teams who are developing products and technology that will be leveraged globally, some travel, domestic and international, will be required.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of legal experience

  • Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent

  • Experience in private practice or in house experience at a technology company or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work

  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations

  • Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams

  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through, and meet deadlines

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $195,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
